Yama-Inu’S Trail:
A Japanese Ramen Tour
Branding

BRAND STORY
Our tour company was created to give travelers a true backpacking experience as they are guided through Japan’s wonderful countryside, learning about Japan’s history and feeling as if they are ronins traveling the land. Ronins were known to travel extensively from town experience as they are guided through Japan’s wonderful countryside, to town in search of food. We want our customers to get a sense of the reality that ronins used to live through in feudal Japan. Because the travelers will mainly be exploring the mountain range, we want them to feel as if they are being guided by the great mountain-spirit dog, the yama-inu.
MISSION STATEMENT + Our Vision
We take our travelers on a 7-10 day trip, depending on what they sign up for. Each day, we will explore Japan’s countryside and every other day we will discover a new ramen shop along the path. At night, travelers will return to Inns that we provide. Our vision is to give both foreigners and city natives a different perspective on what feudal Japan was like centuries ago before the Industrial Revolution. We also want them to feel like they’re on a mission with a loyal companion.

Yama (MOUNTAIN) + INU (DOG)
Japan is well known for its mythical creatures and spirits called yokai. Our tour is called Yama-Inu’s Trail because yama-inu’s are mountain dog spirits and this tour’s focused is exploring rural Japan and learning its history all while on the search underground ramen places. This being said, we want our travelers to feel as if they have one of Japan’s most famous mythical creatures as their loyal companion on their journey.

VISUAL ELEMENTS
A ramen tour would not be complete if it didn’t have a ramen pattern as a visual element! The warm tones and thickness of the ramen make them irresistible for travelers after a long day of exploring. It will definitely feel rewarding being able to slurp up one of Japan’s most valued dishes spending all day studying its history!
What's more beautiful than Japan’s mountain terrain? Perhaps it’s the villagers who have inhabited them! While on their journey, travelers will not only be able to experience the mountainsides and rural Japan, but also the lifestyle of its villagers. Japan is well known for its breathtaking landscape and we believe that everyone should be able to experience it at least once in their lives.
There is no better way to top off our signature elements than with the ramen toppings themselves! A ramen bowl is not complete without its toppings, just like how we are not complete without our values!
Patches
These unique ramen shop patches are collectables that travelers can earn while dining at our various destinations! The shops on these patches can only be found on our tour and go great with our souvenirs such as the Yama-Inu Tour hat and drawstring backpack.
